Established in 1933, Glen Gorse Golf Course is a well-established course and highly regarded by its members. The Golf Club itself is a busy, multi-faceted club. With multiple competitions, hundreds of members, and thousands of visitors, the club has a lot to offer.
Glen Gorse needed a site that would not only communicate up-to-date information, it needed to be functional, allowing members and visitors to book a Tee, and extract details about the course, weather conditions, competitions and club functions.
As a busy Golf Club, Glen Gorse required a site that could deliver a lot of information and functions. Some of the features they wanted, included:
Built on WordPress we were able to provide a bespoke website design that included all of the necessary features. Using an open API to communicate with AccuWeather App, real-time weather information for the region is permanently updated and displayed at the top of the website. We also built a course status feature located at the top of the site which is updated by course managers via the site.
The ability to Book A Tee as a member or visitor is present throughout the site.
Glen Gorse’s previous website looked dated and lacked important functions. By placing the beautiful images of the course front-and-centre, we wanted to the course to speak for itself.

The golf club web design utilises contemporary fonts, making the overall design clearer, modern and easy to read. We structured the site into clear sections including dedicated sections on the course (and all the different holes), information for visitors, the the club and its members.
One of the key things for a Golf Club is ‘selling’ the course. This is why we wanted to find a way to really feature everything it has to offer. To do this effectively we created an dedicated ‘course tour’ section on the site, featuring all 18 holes. The ability to filter the holes by par, visitors can easily view essential details about the number of yards and stroke index for each hole. The tour is also interactive to increase engagement and enhance usability.
Once a hole is selected web visitors can view key information about each hole. Every hole includes an overview of obstacles and challenges and who the hole is sponsored by. A hand animated fly-trough video auto plays to give a detailed overview of the hole. You’ll also find a handy sound-bite on how to tackle the hole from the Club Professional. The Slope Rating Table and score card can also be downloaded.
